Homeschool Beginner swim lessons are for children ages 4-8 who have
never participated in swim lessons. This beginner swimming class will
work on breath control, floating, freestyle and backstroke swimming
fundamentals and water safety. A variety of flotation devices and water
games will be used to build confidence and strength while maintaining a
safe instructional environment in the pool. In order to progress to the
intermediate/advanced swim level, swimmers must demonstrate the ability
to jump into water over their head unassisted and swim the length of the
instructional pool using correct freestyle and backstroke technique.
Homeschool Intermediate and Advanced swim lessons are for youth who
have successfully demonstrated the swimming fundamentals of breath
control, floating, freestyle and backstroke. In the intermediate level swim
lessons, freestyle and backstroke will be refined with drills that focus on
body position in the water, swim technique and rhythmic breathing. In
the advanced swim lessons, swimmers will be introduced to breaststroke,
elementary backstroke, and butterfly. Swim class will be held in both the
instructional and competition pools. Swimmers will build their endurance to
complete 25 yards of swimming or more.

Homeschool Harbor

Homeschool Harbor swim lessons are intended for children ages six
through twelve who are comfortable in the water and can demonstrate
the fundamentals of swimming, including swimming the length of the
instructional pool without assistance. The first 30 minutes of the swim
class will be devoted to large group swimming instruction focused on
improving skills and endurance while refining techniques for freestyle,
backstroke, breaststroke and elementary backstroke. The second part
of class will provide free swim time for students to practice skills and
experiment with a variety of instructional swimming devices under the
supervision of the swim instructor. Children must be able to pass the deep
water swim test to participate.
