Click HERE to watch a video message from our CEO about how we can work together to help prevent the spread of COVID19.

We are working hard every day to adhere to the guidelines provided by the CDC and the state of Ohio to keep the Y as safe as possible for our staff and our members. Since day 1 of our reopening our staff have been wearing masks. Our cardio strength center and fitness classes have been adapted to meet physical distancing guidelines, and we are even starting to offer pop-up outdoor fitness classes!  We have hand sanitizer available for use throughout our facilities, and we’re cleaning and disinfecting constantly.

We do these things because we care about the health and well-being of our members. Thank you for continuing to come to the Y and joining with us to keep staff and members at the Y as safe as possible during this pandemic.

FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES WHEN YOU COME TO THE YPurple and red triangles and text

  • Do a health self-check before you leave home and stay home if you are ill or you have symptoms of COVID-19.

  • Come to the Y with a purpose. Come to work out, lap swim, or attend a specific program.

  • Arrive no more than 10 minutes before your class or program begins.

  • Follow physical distancing at all times.

  • Enter through the North Entrance at Lebanon or the front Entrance at Landen.

  • Have your membership card or app ready to scan for a required check-in.

  • Sanitize your hands upon entry. Sanitizer will be available at the entry.

  • Bring your own water bottle, pre-filled.

  • Bring your own towel.

  • Restrooms and some locker rooms are open. Some showers are also available.

We don’t expect you to wear a mask while you exercise, but for the health of others we encourage you to wear one in our public spaces and when you are interacting with staff. We encourage you to wear a mask as you check-in and walk the hallways, as you interact with staff, and as you exit the building.

Wash your hands or use our sanitizing stations often. Restrooms are open, and sanitizing stations will be available at entrances, in the Cardio Strength Center, on pool decks, and in any open studios.

Participate in cleaning and disinfecting the equipment you use while at the Y. We ask that you spray down any equipment you use in the CSC or fitness studios. Rest assured your efforts are an addition to our cleaning protocols, which meet the guidelines from health experts and local officials.

If you are in a water fit class or swim lesson, when the class or lesson ends, you will place any YMCA equipment you use in a bin marked for disinfection.

Follow physical distancing if you are waiting for a class, equipment, or swim lap lane. Also maintain social distancing in any class. Partners exercising together and sharing equipment must maintain group segmentation from others exercising.

You’ll notice we have removed some equipment and reduced class sizes to meet the required social distance of six feet between members.

Answers to Other Frequently Asked Questions

If you maintained your membership with us throughout the pandemic closing of our fitness facilities, you don’t need to do anything to reactivate your membership. As long as you have your membership card or the MDOC app on your smartphone, you can scan in! Welcome Back!

If you cancelled your membership, but would like to reactivate, please email and our Welcome Center staff will reactivate your membership for you. There’s no need for you to come in, as the reactivation can be done online and by communicating via email. We want this process to be simple, safe and streamlined.

If you arrive at the Y before you reactivate your membership, you will be directed to the Welcome Center. If the Welcome Center is closed, you can still come in to exercise one time while we get your membership reactivated! To make your return to the Y simple, safe and streamlined we recommend reactivating your membership prior to your first time back to the Y.

Update: We've had some questions recently about our rejoiner fee policy. And based on member input, we've updated the policy. Any existing member who cancels their membership on or after March 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020 can rejoin (or reinstate their membership) with no joiner fee from now through Dec. 31,2020.  If needed in December, the Y will re-evaluate this policy.
