Man wearing a health mask

Watch this video to learn how the Y is promoting health by requiring masks for all.

We’re in this fight against COVID-19 together! As we head into fall and winter and turn indoors, we want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to provide a safe place for our members. We do these things because we care about the health and well-being of our members, and we want to remain open throughout the winter. Working together we can help to stop the spread of this disease.

WE’RE DOING OUR PART

  • We are cleaning and disinfecting the facility daily, and equipment after every use.

  • We installed Puradigm air filters in the CSC and in studios at Lebanon.

  • We installed touchless door openers on restrooms.

  • We encourage handwashing and provide hand sanitizer stations throughout the building.

  • All staff are temperature checked upon arrival for their work day.

  • All staff are required to wear masks.

  • We’ve moved some fitness equipment and classes outdoors.

  • All fitness equipment is now spaced based on physical distance guidelines and class sizes now meet guidelines for social distancing as well.

FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES TO DO YOUR PART

If you are under an isolation or quarantine order from the health department you are not permitted to be at the YMCA until the order expires.

Wear a mask if you are 10 years old or older.

Do a healthy self-check before you leave home and stay home if you are ill or you have symptoms of COVID-19.

Come to the Y with a purpose. Come to work out, lap swim, or attend a specific program. Our lobby furniture and café tables have been temporarily removed to prevent gathering for socializing.

Arrive no more than 10 minutes before your class or program begins.

Follow physical distancing
 guidelines.

Enter through the North Entrance or Main Entrance
at Lebanon or the front Entrance at Landen.

Have your membership card or app ready to scan for a required check-in.

Sanitize your hands upon entry. Sanitizer will be available at the entry.

Bring your own water bottle. Our no-touch water bottle fillers are working, but vending machines are closed.

Bring your own towel. Our towel service is currently discontinued.

Restrooms and some locker rooms are open. Some showers are also available.

FIND ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS HERE

If you maintained your membership with us throughout the pandemic closing of our fitness facilities, you don’t need to do anything to reactivate your membership. As long as you have your membership card or the MDOC app on your smartphone, you will be able to scan in on opening day!

If you cancelled your membership, but would like to reactivate, please email  membership@ymcastaff.org and our Welcome Center staff will reactivate your membership for you. There’s no need for you to come in, as the reactivation can be done online and by communicating via email. We want this process to be simple, safe and streamlined.

If you arrive at the Y before you reactivate your membership, you will be directed to the Welcome Center. If the Welcome Center is closed, you can still come in to exercise one time while we get your membership reactivated! To make your return to the Y simple, safe and streamlined we recommend reactivating your membership prior to your first time back to the Y.

Update: We've had some questions recently about our rejoiner fee policy. And based on member input, we've updated the policy. Any existing member who cancels their membership on or after March 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020 can rejoin (or reinstate their membership) with no joiner fee from now through Dec. 31,2020.  If needed in December, the Y will re-evaluate this policy.

Each open shower will have a spray bottle of cleaner and we ask that you spray down the shower after use. Also, please spray surfaces where your personal items may have touched, like your towel or gym bag. For this cleaner, you do not need to wipe the surface after spraying. Our housekeeping staff will also be disinfecting the showers.
The open showers will be in the Men's and Women's locker rooms, Stolle Center locker rooms and the upstairs Family Changing Rooms.

In addition:

  • The boys and girls locker rooms remain open, but without showers for now.
  • The outdoor pool restrooms are open, but those showers are still closed.
  • The lower level locker rooms are also still closed.
  • For now, saunas, steam room, and whirlpools in all locker rooms are still closed.

We aren’t quite ready to open these spaces or run these programs yet. We will announce the start dates for these things as soon as we can ensure that these areas of our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety, and our staff is well-trained to maintain the mandated safety and cleanliness requirements.
