Participants in Renew Active through Countryside YMCA benefit in many ways. Not only is your membership fee covered, but you can take advantage of exercise programs and classes designed especially for you. Our Stolle Center caters to the needs of an older adult population, and includes a heated pool, whirlpool, private locker rooms, community room, and exercise facilities. Regularly scheduled social activities from potlucks and group outings, to bus trips and community service opportunities keep you connected with others. Yes. Countryside YMCA is part of the designated caregiver initiative through Renew Active which means eligible members can bring their designated caregiver with them at no cost to the member or caregiver.
A designated caregiver is a person who is 18 years of age or older that has significant resonsibility for managing the well-being of a person diagnosed with a chronic or debilitating mental or physical medical condition.
The member's designaged primary caregiver is granted access the the Y at no cost to solely aid the member. They have access to anything the member does as part of the standard or basic membership; however, the caregiver cannot utilize the service and amenities for themselves.
These classes are designed for specific populations and health challenges, and are available to all our members. Besides these speciality classes, we offer hundreds of other fitness classes and options including walking tracks, spin classes, water fitness, and arts classes.
