Countryside YMCA in Clarksville, Ohio offers a safe, nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. our Step Up to Quality star-rated preschool and school age program is designed to meet the needs of families with children ages three years old through eighth grade.

Our vision is for all Countryside YMCA childcare programs to be the leaders in building children of character. Our program encompasses the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, respect, and faith.

We offer

  • Part Time Preschool – wraparound of the school’s part time program

  • Before & After School – during the school year, Kindergarten through eighth grade

  • Summer Adventure – a summer camp program for school age children

Preschool Program Highlights:

  • Lessons are designed to enhance problem-solving skills, improve personal interaction, and showcase each child’s natural creativity.
  • The well-planned curriculum is consistent with the YMCA’s philosophy to offer child-centered and holistic learning. The curriculum is aligned with the State of Ohio’s learning and development standards for Social-Emotional Development, Approaches Toward Learning, Cognitive Development and General Knowledge (including Mathematics, Science and Social Studies), Language and Literacy Development, and Physical Well-Being.
  • Breakfast and afternoon snacks included in the price.

School Age Before & After School Care Program Highlights:

  • During the academic year, we provide before and after school care for youth in kindergarten through eighth grade in the Clinton Massie school district. A variety of activities provide opportunities for children to grow cognitively, socially, emotionally, physically and creatively. Children develop a positive self-concept through a balance of self-directed and teacher-assisted activities.

Summer Adventure – Summer School Age Care Program Highlights:

The Summer Adventure Program gives families an affordable summertime childcare option for school-age children. It is designed for children who have completed kindergarten through 8th grade. Days are structured like summer camp, and children have the opportunity to enjoy fun activities like creating art projects and learning from guest speakers. The program operates 6:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Breakfast and afternoon snack are included in the price.

Tuition:

  • Upon enrollment, there is a non-refundable registration fee that will secure your childcare spot. This fee is for each child enrolled. A child is not considered enrolled until the registration fee is paid in full.

  • Automatic Bank Draft is the only payment method. Tuition payments can be drafted from your checking account, savings account or credit card. If using a credit card, a processing fee will be applied. Payments will be drafted bi-weekly. This will make it easy for you to pay your childcare fee automatically, at absolutely no cost to you if you are using a checking or savings account.

  • Tuition is due on draft Friday for the upcoming two weeks.
  • Our program is a not-for-profit organization. We base our operating cost on annual registration projections. In order to continually assure the highest quality of staff, equipment and supplies, we cannot offer reductions in our fees for absences due to illness, school delays, and delays changing to closures, holidays, inclement weather conditions or vacations.

Closings and Delay Policy:

  • Parents will be notified through our mass communication system of any delays or closures.

  • If the program’s local school district closes for inclement weather or other conditions, our programs will operate on a TWO HOUR DELAY. Programs will begin at 8:30 am. If there is a change or deviation to this policy, parents will be notified through our mass communication system of any delays or closures.

  • In the event of a level 2 weather advisory, programs will decide on an individual location basis, if travel is safe. In the event of a level 3 weather advisory, programs will be closed. In the event a level 2 or 3 weather advisory, natural disaster or other environmental conditions presents, when children are already in our care, parents will be contacted to pick up their children.

General Tuition Information

Registration Fee A New Family $60.00 non-refundable registration fee per child.
Annual Processing Fee An annual fee of $50.00 per child to cover updating paperwork, software, Mass Communication System, etc. due 1st draft every September
Siblings The oldest sibling receives a 5% discount off the weekly tuition (excluding full days)
School Closures

Daily Rate for School Closures (Full Days) Kinder – 8th grade: $40.00 per day. Your account will be charged for the days you sign up for.
Preschool pays regular tuition. No additional charge for full days, no pro-rating for short weeks.
Return Payment Fee If your automatic withdrawal of tuition via debit/credit card or bank account is denied your account will be charged a returned item fee per electronic transaction.
Credit Card Processing Fee If you choose to pay with a credit card, please note that a 2.95% processing fee will apply. However, if you opt to use ACH (Bank Account) payments, no additional fees will be charged.

Michelle Wood

Michelle has been with Countryside YMCA for more than 20 years and says that one of her favorite parts of working here is her coworkers.
