During the academic year, we provide before and after school care for youth in kindergarten through eighth grade in the Clinton Massie school district. Our vision is for all Countryside YMCA childcare programs to be the leaders in building children of character. Through the use of "The Creative Curriculum" our program encompasses the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith.
Effective Friday July 24:In accordance with Governor DeWine’s order for mandatory masks in Ohio, Countryside YMCA school age programs have adopted the practice of wearing face coverings for all school age students who are Kindergarten and older. We understand the Governor’s mandate was for children 10 and up, but according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, children 2 years and older should wear "cloth face coverings" when they are "in the community setting" to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. With all our school age programs being mixed ages, it will be difficult and not productive for us to have some children wearing face coverings and others not. We understand it may be challenging to have the children wear face coverings, but we will provide them plenty of opportunities to remove their face coverings throughout the day such as lunch time and outside time. We will make sure we spend as much time instructing outside as possible and teachers will find larger areas to take their class where students can distance and remove face coverings. Face coverings can include a mask, face shield and or a neck gaiter. For more information about how to get your children to wear masks, check out this clip from the Today show on NBC.
Staff and school-age children who are Kindergarten and older are required to wear masks in all indoor areas and in outdoor areas when social distancing is not possible.
Health screenings and temperature checks will be done on all students and staff upon arrival. Kids and staff must have a temperature below 100.4 to participate that day.
Drop off and pick up will be located outside or in the lobby to limit the amount of traffic within the buildings.
According to Ohio Department of Jobs and Familiy Services, ratios and group sizes have been determined based on the ability to properly social distance. Staff practices social distancing and plans age appropriate social distancing activities.
Staff and children follow rigorous handwashing throughout the day.
There is frequent cleaning and sanitizing of high traffic areas throughout the day.
