Creative Curriculum

Studies have shown that engaging in free play allows children to learn the skills of negotiation, problem solving, sharing, and working within groups. Children practice decision-making skills, move at their own pace and discover their own interests during play. Unstructured play leads to more physical movement and healthier children. All our childcare programs use The Creative Curriculum®. The philosophy of The Creative Curriculum is that young children learn best by doing. It is built on theories of development in young children, that all children learn through active exploration of their environment and therefore the environment plays a critical role in learning. The goal of the Creative Curriculum is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learners by actively exploring their environment.

Preschool Enrichment vs. Full Time Preschool

We often get questions regarding the difference between Preschool Enrichment and Full Time Preschool. Preschool Enrichment is a part time program that operates a couple days per week for 2 1/2 hour classes for a monthly fee. The program is designed for stay at home parents that want their children to get some Kindergarten readiness prior to starting school. Full Time preschool is set up for the working parent. It incorporates the same preschool curriculum into an all-day program, this has a weekly fee. Both programs focus on Kindergarten Readiness, self-help skills, and character development.

Financial Assistance Childcare

Our financial assistance program is available to families that meet our income eligibility guidelines. This program is based on a sliding scale. Depending on income guidelines, the assistance could be anywhere from a 10% to 50% discount off weekly tuition. This program is also available to families currently enrolled that are experiencing a job loss or other financial hardships. Funds are limited.

Eligibility will be reviewed every three to six months. For more information contact Holly Helton at 513-932-1424 ext. 112.

The Young Men's Christian Association

Countryside YMCA is committed to emphasizing the character development of the children in our programs by focusing on five core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith. Staff members serve as positive role models and provide care that is supportive, nurturing, warm, and responsive to each child’s needs.
