Swim Lessons

Swim lessons at Countryside YMCA help children and adults learn basic water skills, improve swimming skills, practice water safety, and learn water rescue skills. Of course, we have fun in the process. Swim lessons are progressive, and class sizes are small, so children and adults get the personalized swim instruction they need to build vital skills and prepare for the next program level. Our swim lessons help students learn basic swimming skills, and our swim lesson evaluations ensure children are in the correct class for their level of swim skills.

Not Sure What Class to Register For?

If you aren’t sure which lesson is the best match for you or your child, we do free skill level assessments every Wednesday from 6:45 pm–7:30 pm. If this time doesn’t work for you, you can email Karla Roberds at Karla.Roberds@ymcastaff.org.

Anyone can register at any time & when there is an opening in the class, you will start right away. If the program/class is full, we suggest you join the waitlist. This will allow our program directors to add more of the high-demand classes or put you in line for when a spot opens up for that program/class.

Monthly Recurring Classes

Register online or stop by the front desk to register in person. Once registered, your automatic payment will occur on the 1st of every month. If at any time you wish to cancel registration, you will fill out a withdrawal request form by the 20th of the month. Your child’s enrollment will then expire at the end of that month. You can not sign up in advance for future months until after the 25th of the current month.

Water Fitness

Water Fitness Classes can help to improve joint flexibility, range of motion, motor skills, and cardiovascular endurance. From our low-impact workouts, just about anybody can participate in (including people who are elderly, overweight, recovering from an injury, or dealing with arthritis), to our high-intensity cardio workouts, we love using water to increase fitness levels! Our classes are taught by certified instructors who can give personalized attention due to small class sizes.
