Baseball is a favorite American sport and the Y has a proven track record of engaging, encouraging and empowering kids through co-ed baseball leagues. By focusing on learning the skills and team work needed to play baseball, we inspire girls and boys to get active. It's important for kids to be involved in sports, and we want all kids to have the opportunity to try baseball which is why we offer three co-ed baseball league levels: tee-ball, coach pitch, and advanced coach pitch. After registering, please download the flyer below, fill out and email to Zach McCollum.
There are so many benefits to joining a YMCA co-ed baseball league:
Playing sports is a great way to build self-confidence in kids. Along with improving physical fitness, kids also learn and refine their skills, which boosts their self-esteem. As their skills improve, they gain confidence in their ability to play the game. That confidence trickles into other areas of their lives, helping them feel more self-assured in school and relationships. Kids also feel a sense of accomplishment after finishing a practice session or game.
Baseball is a great way to keep kids active. Obesity is a growing problem among youth and teens. Sports help kids get the exercise they need to maintain a healthy weight and have some fun in the process. As they progress in baseball, their physical fitness also improves, which helps them stay physically healthy.
Joining a co-ed baseball team is a great way to forge lasting friendships. Teammates encourage one another and learn how to work together during practice and games. The skills learned while playing sports will follow kids for the rest of their lives, and many of the friendships they make will last into adulthood.
