Why add strength training?
Lose weight - Strength training will increase lean muscle mass and help burn more body fat. We all naturally loose lean muscle as we age so it is important to counteract this by strength training. Increased muscle mass can also help you manage or lose weight by increasing your metabolism to help you burn more calories.
Reduce your risk of osteoporosis - Strength training will strengthen muscles as well as increase bone density, which reduces the risk of fractures and broken bones. It can also increase spinal bone density to create a strong and healthy spine.
