We want every child to read every day.

The Warren County Imagination Library is here! Countryside YMCA is excited to be a partner in this county-wide effort with the goal that Every Child Reads Every Day!  Imagine that every child reads every day. Imagine that every young child in our town, our county, our state receives a free book mailed to them every month! It is not an impossible dream...it can happen, starting now! The five Warren County Library Districts are funding a three-year pilot program to provide a free book to Warren County children age zero to five every month. As a non-profit organization focused on benefiting our community Countryside YMCA is excited to be involved with the Warren County Imagination Library and share this information.

Why is it so important for children to read every day?

Check out this live presentation by Pam Toler of Saline County Imagination Library at Maumelle Rotary about the importance of early childhood literacy, its impact on society, and how Dolly Parton's Imagination Library helps communities to to achieve this goal by giving away free books to children from birth to age 5.

Children can get FREE books in the mail every month!

The Warren County Imagination Library, in collaboration with the Ohio Governor's Imagination Library and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, is up and running! That means, any child (age birth to 5 years old) who lives within Warren County can get as many as 12 high quality books a year until they turn five years old. That could be as many as 60 books in a child's home before they start kindergarten....at NO cost to the parent. And one of the important benefits is children will be read to at home, sitting in someone's lap who cares about them.

These books can prepare children for school and improve school success.

85% of a child's brain develops within the first four years of life. A young child's brain grows neurons as they see objects and pictures in books, and hears sounds and words when someone reads them a story. Reading to a child grows their ability to understand and grows their language. Studies prove that the more a child is read to, the more prepared they are for school.

This the biggest civic engagement in Warren County history.

Thanks to our Ohio Governor and our Warren County Libraries who are helping to pay for every child to receive an age appropriate book a month in the mail.

The founding partners of the Warren County Imagination Library include: Warren County Imagination Library Founding Partners are Franklin-Springboro Public LIbrary, Lebanon Public Library, Mary L. Cook Public Library, Mason Public Library, Salem Township Public Library, United Way of Warren County and Warren County Foundation. The five libraries have generously funded a three-year pilot in collaboration with the Ohio Governor's Imagination Library and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
