Child Watch will be closed November 5 and November 6, reopening November 7

November 5, 2020

Dear YMCA families:
This is to inform you that we are closing our Child Watch center as of 1pm today, and plan to reopen on Saturday, November 7 at 8:30am.  This is due to a COVID-19 exposure in Child Watch on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 3 and 4. The space is closed for deep cleaning.

Individual families who had children in Child Watch and Child Watch staff who were in direct contact with the individual have been communicated with directly by phone and email.
We can reassure you that we were prepared for this possibility, and we are responding appropriately, as directed by the Warren County Health Department.

Let's stay healthy together!

Please daily assess yourself and your family who frequent the Y for your own potential COVID-19 symptoms (fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea). If you or someone in your household have any of these symptoms, we encourage you to seek medical advice and a COVID-19 test. Please do not return to the Y until these three conditions are met:
1.       at least 24 hours has passed since there has been no fever without the use of fever-reducing
2.       medications AND other symptoms have improved
3.       AND at least 10 days have passed since the onset of symptoms.

We are working hard to ensure everyone's health and safety

We are continuing to take the following steps to help ensure, as best as possible, your health and safety here at the Y:

  • Employees are required to wear masks or other facial coverings when moving within the Y or when interacting with members.  (There are exceptions by department based on job requirements when a mask is not appropriate/safe.)

  • Employees are required to maintain six feet of social distance from others at all times.

  • Employees must diligently wash their hands and otherwise use hand sanitizer (which we are providing in intervals around the Y).

  • Employees are temperature checked upon arrival at that Y and will not be allowed to work if they have a fever over 100.

  • Employees must self-assess their own health before reporting to work, and no employee is permitted to come to work if they have any of the known symptoms of COVID-19.

  • We are deep cleaning the high use areas of the Y on a daily basis.

Our commitment to your health and safety is our top priority. We are committed to providing a safe environment for all our employees and our members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at

Please stay safe and take care of yourself. We want to see you in the Y as often as possible!
