Facility Maintenance Technician (posted August 21, 2019)

  • Reports to: Stacy Decker
  • Hours and Days: 40 hours weekly with the possibility of some limited evening/weekend requirements.
  • Job Duties: We are seeking a reliable, experienced team player with the ability to perform troubleshooting and maintenance of the facility mechanical systems and buildings. This FT position is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the facilities, grounds, systems, equipment and vehicles of the YMCA. You must be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and maintain a positive attitude when dealing with members and staff, with safety as a top priority.
  • Hiring Requirements: High school diploma or GED, must be at least 18 years of age or older and pass a background check. 2 years prior experience in facility maintenance and upkeep. Must have a valid driver’s license. Trade knowledge (i.e., carpentry, electrical, HVAC, masonry, painting etc.) is a plus. Must have basic computer skills.

Welcome Desk Coordinator - PM (posted August 9, 2019)

  • Reports to: Amy Rose
  • Hours and Days: 40 hours weekly, 12 pm - 8 pm with a minimum of two Saturdays each month.
  • Main area of responsibility: In this role,  you will model exceptional member service at the Membership Courtesy Desk while supervising desk staff, as well as staff flow, peak times, and member needs.  You will assist with interviewing, hiring and training of new personnel, covering staff schedules in emergency situations and tending to the organization and cleanliness of the Courtesy Desk area.
  • Requirements: You should be 18+ years of age and have 3+ years of prior customer service experience, a High School diploma or equivalent and the ability to handle money with ease and accuracy. Conflict resolution and experience working with other community-based organizations is preferred, as is successful experience motivating and supervising others. Must pass a background check.

Physical Desk attendant (posted August 2, 2019)

  • Hours and Days: Two shifts available!  Thursdays from 5 pm-close (9 pm summer hours/10 pm fall & winter hours) or Fridays 9 am - 1 pm plus one weekend per month
  • Main area of responsibility
    • Build relationships with the members and provide friendly service
    • Handle and balance cash register of daily sales
    • Sell YMCA and general sports merchandise
    • Take membership pictures

Volunteer Coordinator (posted August 2, 2019)

  • Purpose: Volunteers are the driving force behind many nonprofits. Each year Countryside is blessed with amazing individuals who dedicate their time and talent to our cause in a myriad of ways, from helping us pull off fundraising events to serving others in our community.  We are seeking 1-2 individuals to serve as the primary contacts for our volunteer program by recruiting, organizing and arranging participation by YMCA volunteers for internal and external events and programs.
  • Hours and Days:  10-15 hours weekly, flexible scheduling. This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
  • Requirements: Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.  Reliability with the ability to work independently.  Strong desire to make an impact on Countryside's Volunteer program and to see members and the community increase connections to the Countryside YMCA.

AQUATICS

Pre Competitive Swim Coach (posted August 7, 2019)

  • Hours and Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:15 pm
  • Main area of responsibility: The Countryside Pre-Competitive program is an introductory program, for children ages 6-14 that includes basic stroke instruction, turns, starts, and an introduction to competitive swimming. Swimmers will work on stroke technique and drills designed to make their swimming easier and more efficient while developing enthusiasm for the sport of swimming. As a coach, you are on deck during practice and responsible for creating practices each day, and correcting swimmers’ strokes, teaching drills, and encouraging a positive team atmosphere. 
  • Requirements: Applicants must have 2+ years prior learn-to-swim and coaching experience working with swimmers ages 6-14 years. Ability to coach both in and out of the water, be vocal and animated in coaching style, oversee meet entries.  Must have strong communications skills and assist swimmers and parents with questions/concerns.  CPR & First Aid certifications plus must pass a background check.
