Director of Housekeeping Services (posted November 17, 2017)

  • Reports to:  Interim CEO / Director of Buiding and Grounds 
  • Responsibilities:  The Director of Housekeeping Services is responsible for the supervision, hiring, training and evaluation of the housekeeping personnel and oversees the management and maintenance of a clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing environment at the Countryside YMCA.  This individual should be hospitality focused with a positive and proactive attitude. 
  • Requirements:  
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Must submit to and pass a Criminal History Background Check
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in janitorial or facility maintenance field
    • 1 year of supervisory experience
    • CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of employment
    • Experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
    • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
    • Ability to supervise staff and make schedules
    • Basic understanding of the upkeep, care and safe operation of motorized equipment used for cleaning i.e. auto scrubber, buffer, sweeper, etc.
    • Understanding of cleaning compounds, chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
    • Basic computer knowledge
    • Knowledge of federal laws and regulations related to health and safety

  • Hours and Days:  Saturdays from 9 am - 12 pm, 3 hours weekly
  • Main area of responsibility: Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents while helping them connect with each other and the YMCA in our efforts to improve water safety throughout the community. Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
  • Requirements:  
    • Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification and Emergency Oxygen.
    • Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
    • YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent when available.

  • Main area of responsibility:  Under the supervision of the Head Coach, the Assistant Swim Team Coach is responsible for the health, safety and training of swimmers, administering the program as directed by the Head Coach including planning practices and reporting any problems to the Head Coach.
  • Requirements: Must pass a background check. All assistant coaches are required to maintain the necessary certifications to be on the pool deck for the appropriate YMCA or USA swimming events.  The Assistant Swim Team Coach shall exhibit and require high standards in risk management and quality control that are consistent with the vision and mission of the YMCA.

Gymnastics Evening Coordinator, Part-time (November 7, 2017)
