CSC/Desk Associate & Personal Trainer (posted October 24, 2017)

  • Department: Cardio Strength Center, Landen  
  • Hours and Days: 15-25 hours weekly with evening and weekend availability
  • Primary area of responsibility: Greet and engage members, instruct members on all weight and cardio equipment, perform orientations and setups. Clean equipment. Follow all safety and risk management procedures.  
  • Requirements: Excellent customer service skills, knowledge of fitness equipment, exercise and some computer skills. Nationally recognized trainer certification required for all Personal Trainers.

Member Services Desk Assistant (posted October 24, 2017)

  • Reports to:  Jim German
  • Department: Landen
  • Hours and Days:  15-25 hours weekly; predominantly weekends between the hours of 12-7 pm on Saturdays, and Sundays 11:45 pm 11:45 am - 6pm.  Various weekday shifts may also be available in the afternoon and evening. 
  • Primary area of responsibility:  This position supports the work of the YMCA by interacting with new and existing members to help them achieve their goals related to health and well-being. This employee is responsible for serving members in the Cardio Strength Center and Welcome Desk area as necessary.
  • Qualifications:  
    • 18 years of age, minimum
    • High school graduate or equivalent
    • Exceptional member service skills with prior background in Customer Service
    • Computer literate with data input skills
    • Working knowledge of fitness and wellness trends to provide effective information and support members.

Evening/Weekend Child Watch Coordinator (posted October 6, 2017)

  • Reports to:  Julie Groh
  • Department:  Youth and Family l Landen
  • Hours and Days:  20 hours weekly, evenings and Saturday mornings
  • Primary area of responsibility:  Works in coordination with the Weekday Coordinator to
    • Oversee development of the staff schedule
    • Train new Child Watch employees on proper procedure and policy; ensure said procedures and policies are followed by existing staff at all times.
    • Oversee disciplinary issues as they arise with staff and members
    • Supervise Child Watch cleaning log
  • Qualifications:  
    • High School Diploma
    • 21 years of age
    • Background Check
    • Exceptional Member Service Skills
    • Experience supervising a staff of 10 or more
    • At least 2 years experience supervising children
    • Flexible schedule (afternoons, evenings, weekends)
    • Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
