Lifeguard and YASA Courses
Being prepared for an emergency is the most effective way to reduce the risk of injury and possibly death. Countryside YMCA offers certified health and safety courses designed to respond to emergencies.
- YMCA Lifeguard. Course prepares participants to recognize aquatic emergencies and teaches several water rescue skills, spinal injury management, aquatic safety and prevention techniques. CPR and First Aid are included. MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES, pass water skills test and written test. Call Nate Brestelli for questions 513 932 1424 ext 116.
- YMCA Lifeguard Certification at Lebanon High School. Earn your lifeguard certification at Lebanon High School as an elective class. To learn more about class fees, schedule, prerequisites, and requirements for earning the lifeguard certification and the elective credit, click here. - Y.A.S.A. (YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant). This YMCA certification course trains and certifies individuals in the YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant program. Participants gain the knowledge and skills needed to both prevent and recognize aquatic risks and to assist the lifeguards in the emergency response to an accident or injury. This certification is necessary to become a Water Slide Monitor at the Countryside YMCA. Please check the current newsletter for YASA certification course schedules. Participants must attend all scheduled class to complete the course.
