Hewett P. Mulford Sr. Nature Trail
Established in 1984 the Hewett P. Mulford Nature Trail is maintained and enhanced through volunteer efforts. The 2.3 miles of trail is open 9 months out of the year September thru May. Features on the trail include a wetland, hiking trails, campsites, and watershed. Each year the trail hosts two major events, The Healthy Kids Triathlon (in August) and Mud-O-Ween Extreme Trail Run (in October).
Mission. The Hewett P. Mulford Sr. Nature Trail exists to encourage people of all ages to grow together in their spirit, mind and body through volunteerism, educational opportunities, and activities in the outdoors.
The Charter of the Hewett P. Mulford Nature Trail Committee is to:
- Perpetuate the legacy of the Nature Trail for future generations.
- Provide a safe and productive environment through the allocation of time and resources.
- Promote opportunities for the public to experience the outdoors.
Scouting Group Rentals. The campsite can be rented for overnight rentals by scouting groups and astronomy program is available. Contact Melissa Kneer for details.
