AQUATICS DEPARTMENT

Countryside YMCA Torpedoes Head Coach/Director of Competitive Swimming (posted April 4, 2017)

  • Reports to:  Holly Colón, Executive Director Aquatics and Gymnastics
  • Main area of responsibility:  The Countryside YMCA Torpedoes is a large (235 swimmers with 12 assistant coaches) age group swim program having generated numerous YMCA National Champions, Division I swimming athletes, USA Swimming Jr. and Sr. National Qualifiers as well as Ohio High School State Champions.  The Torpedoes National Team consistently finishes in the top 5 at YMCA Short and Long Course Nationals.  Countryside YMCA seeks an experienced coach capable of continuing this tradition of swimming excellence. The Head Coach/Competitive Swimming must have a proven record of success in competitive swim team development and program management. Assistant Swim Team Coach (Posted April 5, 2017)

  • Reports to:  Holly Colón and Head Swim Team Coach
  • Position Summary:  Under the supervision of the Head Coach, the Assistant Swim Team Coach is responsible for the health, safety and training of swimmers on the Countryside Torpedoes competitive swim team.  Helps to administer the team as directed by the Head Coach, including planning practices and reporting any problems to the Head Coach. 
  • Requirements:  This is a seasonal position.  All assistant coaches are required to maintain the necessary certifications to be on the pool deck for the appropriate YMCA or USA swimming events.  Must pass a background check and hold required safety certificates.

Birthday Party Hostess (Posted March 30, 2017)

  • Main area of responsibility:  The Party Hostesses’ primary function is to assist members and participants in the organization and implementation of their Birthday Party held at the Ralph J. Stolle Countryside YMCA in a manner consistent with the vision and mission of the organization.

Seasonal (Summer) Gymnastics Camp Coordinator (posted April 3, 2017)

  • Department:  Gymnastics
  • Reports to:  Peggy Hoffman
  • Hours and Days:  40 hours weekly during summer programming, schedule will vary. 
  • Main area of responsibility:  Camp coordinator responsibilities will be to directly supervise camp counselors and children. Planning, administering and evaluating the camp program and staff.  Ideal candidates will also possess: Ability to lead others in sometimes adverse conditions, prior gymnastics experience, desire to work with children, sound judgment according to YMCA  and American Camping Association standard and an understanding of the YMCA core values,  maturity, and accountability
  • Requirements:  Must be 18 years old or older, have professional CPR and First aid training and some knowledge of computers.

  • Department:  Building and Grounds
  • Hours and Days:  40 hours weekly, schedule TBD 
  • Primary area of responsibility:  Seeking a reliable, experienced team player with the ability to perform troubleshooting and maintenance of the facility mechanical systems and buildings. This FT position is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the facilities, grounds, systems, equipment and vehicles of the YMCA. Must be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and maintain a positive attitude when dealing with members and staff, with safety as a top priority.
  • Requirements: High school diploma or GED, must be at least 18 years of age or older and pass a background check. Prefer a minimum of 2 years prior experience in facility maintenance and upkeep. Must have valid driver’s license. Trade knowledge (i.e., plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, masonry, painting, landscaping, electrical, general construction, etc.) is a plus. Must have basic computer skills.
